The legend of Superman has become the essence of boyhood dreams ever since Christopher Reeve donned the blue tights and red cape. This boxed set contains all four films from the successful series. Superman (1978) - Before the destruction of Krypton, Jor-El sends his baby son to Earth, where he develops superhuman powers. Working as mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent, he hides his secret identity until challenged by arch-enemy Lex Luthor. The Marvel Comics hero leaps to the screen in the muscular form of Reeve who beat Redford, Stallone and Eastwood to win the role of his life. Superman II (1980) - General Zod and his rebels have been freed from captivity in a fragment of Kryptonite by a nuclear explosion in outer space. Now they plan revenge against the son of their captor, the caped crusader living as Clark Kent. A battle of superhuman powers is about to shake the universe. Superman III (1983) - In this adventure our hero, Superman, has to battle against a power-crazy tycoon, Ross Webster, and a crooked computer wizard, Gus Gorman when they attempt to take over the world. But the dastardly duo have discovered Kryptonite, which leaves Superman with a split personality. However, all is not lost as our hero is more than equal to the task of ensuring world peace. Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (1987) - Superman is back to rid the world of all nuclear weapons. However arch-villian Lex Luthor, now an enterprising arms dealer, has other ideas and creates a nuclear man whose power are equal to that of Superman. Things look bad for our hero as the two do thrilling and spectacular battle.
