First time feature documentary filmmaker Don Argott traces the ups and downs of owner, teacher and self-titled Uberlord of Rock, Paul Green and his School Of Rock Music a unique institution founded in Philadelphia in 1999, dedicated to teaching children ages nine through to seventeen the ins-and-outs of rock \'n\' roll. The original and best Headmaster of Rock, Green is clearly the inspiration behind the now legendary Dewey Finn played by Jack Black in the box office smash School Of Rock. Green lives, breathes and sleeps rock \'n\' roll. Passionate about his craft, his unorthodox teaching method involves habitually transforming himself from a calm and sensitive music teacher to a genuine \'Monster of Rock\'. His outrageous outbursts and tantrums cause tears of both laughter and pain, but ultimately this is the story of a man whose heart beats to the drum of rock \'n\' roll. Leading his wide eyed and frequently terrified students with the hard-edged screaming sounds of rock and roll, Rock School comes to an emotional climax when Paul Green\'s School Of Rock travels to Germany to perform the music of Frank Zappa at the Bad Doberon festival. This special festival dedicated to the prog-rocker\'s oeuvre features Zappa legends such as Ike Willis and Napoleon Murphy-Brock... and the kids prove they can rock with the very best of them.
