Based on the Highland novels by Compton Mackenzie and follows the fortunes of Archie MacDonald who is carving out a life for himself as a restauranteur in London when he is summoned home to the Scottish Highlands after his father, The Laird of Glenbogle, is injured in an accident. In the second series Archie has his work cut out if he is to succeed in turning the crumbling debt-ridden Glenbogle Estate into a profitable business. Molly\'s gambling debts, run-ins with Glaswegian gangsters, his impending 30th birthday, the untimely arrival of his sister Lizzie, all add to Archie\'s daily trials and tribulations
