Colin Ware (Colin Firth) is a British artist who has been dumped by his fiancee (Minnie Driver). He finds himself in a rundown hotel in Vermont, where the owner (Mary Steenburgen) decides to fix him up with a sweet girl called Mandy (Heather Graham). Colin is quite taken with her. Just as things begin to \'happen\' between them, his ex returns, hoping to try again.
